The vibrancy of Penang’s hospitality industry was further elevated with the opening of the Penang Marriott Hotel recently.
Leading the team at the premier hotel is Subash Basrur, the Complex General Manager for the Penang Marriott Hotel, Marriott Executive Apartments Penang and Marriott Residences Penang.
The 5-star hotel has also added to the inventory of existing hotels along the tourist belt along Gurney Drive.
Meanwhile, Subash is assisted by his able and experienced Executive Committee (ExCom) and HODs team, namely Pearl Ling (Complex Director of Finance), Raymond Seow (Complex Director of Human Resources, Jensen Chuah (Complex Director of Engineering), Prakash Ponnudurai (Director of Food & Beverage) Kasturi Muniandy (Director of Rooms), Ivan Khoo (Director of Residential Services), Adam Harangozo (Cluster Director of Revenue Management), Michelle Koay (Director of Sales), Teh Beng Lyn (Complex Director of Learning & Development), Harikumar Katherasen (Director of Loss Prevention), Lee Keen Suaan (Executive Chef) and Lee Poh Chai (Complex IT Manager).
The new facility offers some 223 finely decorated rooms and suites. Among their outlets consist of the Sago lobby restaurant, Kucina Italian restaurant, Lava Lava swift to-go outlet, ballroom, gym, swimming pool among others.
The towering 55-storey building also serves as the latest landmark on the island.
