The gathering was organized by Penang Harmony Corporation, together with scholars, religious representatives and cultural practitioners from around the world to witness this significant moment as Mazu belief takes its place on the international stage.

Over one thousand years, the belief in Mazu has evolved from a symbol of protection for seafarers into an important cultural bond that unites Chinese communities across the globe.

The symposium will help create new opportunities for academic research and cultural exchange. These discussions and interactions will make this traditional faith shine with renewed vitality in the modern era.
