To inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals, Jazz Hotel Penang opened its doors to students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanjung Tokong for a special familiarisation programme.
This eye-opening visit gave students a real taste of what it’s like to work in the hospitality world—and the exciting opportunities waiting for them after they finish school.
With Penang set to welcome more new hotels and resorts in the coming years, the industry is searching for fresh talent, creative thinkers and passionate young people.
During the programme, the students met Jazz Hotel General Manager, Jordon Lim and Penang MOTAC Director, Dr. Annuar Mohamed, who shared inspiring insights about Malaysia’s thriving tourism scene. Also present were other department heads of the hotel.

The students then explored the hotel through a guided tour, gaining hands-on experience in key departments such as Front Office, Food & Beverage, Sales, Finance, Security, and more. They saw first-hand how teamwork, people skills and passion come together to create unforgettable guest experiences.
With programmes like this, Jazz Hotel hopes to spark new interest and confidence in students—so that these future talents will one day bring their energy, ideas and enthusiasm to Penang’s vibrant hospitality industry.
