The Light Hotel Penang invites guests to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan with its signature Selera Kayangan buffet, featuring a lavish spread of over 200 authentic and traditional dishes.

Prepared by the hotel’s team of expert chefs, the buffet is available daily from the first day of Ramadan, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

This year’s theme celebrates tradition, abundance and togetherness, offering a meaningful dining experience for families, friends and corporate gatherings.

Taking centre stage are an array of chef’s signature highlights, including the much-loved slow-roasted Kambing Golek, the rare and indulgent BBQ Ekor Lembu, aromatic chicken and lamb biryani, and an extensive selection of regional favourites. 

Guests can also enjoy flavours spanning Malay, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Western cuisines, ensuring something to delight every palate.

Traditional warisan dishes such as Bubur Lambuk, Lemang and Ketupat further elevate the experience, complemented by live-action cooking stations and the chefs’ daily specialty soups, evoking the comforting essence of home-cooked Ramadan meals.

Dessert lovers will be equally spoiled with an impressive selection of sweet indulgences. Highlights include traditional kuih-muih Melayu such as ondeh-ondeh, seri muka, kuih lapis, ketayap, kuih talam and wajik, alongside modern dessert creations, a chocolate fountain, and refreshing local beverages.

Beyond the culinary delights, guests can enjoy an enhanced dining atmosphere with nightly live entertainment. 

Two live performances take place each evening, headlined by the popular Hits List Band and special appearances by renowned saxophonist Wan Andre, a Ramadan favourite at The Light Hotel Penang. Together, they create a warm, festive and inviting ambience for breaking fast.

Commenting on this year’s offering, The Light Hotel Penang General Manager, Raj Kumar, shared that Selera Kayangan is designed to deliver more than just a dining experience. 

“Beyond the delectable culinary offerings, guests can immerse themselves in the inviting ambience of our beautifully adorned dining space. We are delighted to offer an early bird rate of only RM128+ per person for a limited time. Every element has been carefully curated to ensure a meaningful and memorable Ramadan celebration,” he said.

Following the early bird promotion, normal prices will apply at RM143+ per adult, RM128+ for senior citizens aged 60 and above, and RM95+ for children aged 6 to 12 years old.

With its widest buffet spread to date, live entertainment and festive setting, Selera Kayangan is set to be one of Penang’s largest and most anticipated Ramadan dining destinations this year.

The buffet was officially launched at a grand ceremony yesterday evening, graced by their managing director Tan Sri Ramesh, members of the Board of Directors, and invited guests. In the spirit of giving, children from several orphanages were also presented with duit raya.
