This new development is also much welcomed by the hospitality industry in Langkawi.

Malaysian Association of Hotels Kedah/Perlis Chapter chairman Eugene Dass welcomed the news as another boost for the Langkawi hospitality industry and the stakeholders on the island.

“Any additional flights bringing in tourists is much welcomed. However, we are concerned about the consistency of such support which I was made to understand will commence 16th December 2024 with daily flights to Langkawi with passenger loading of 180 passengers.

“Having said that, hotels will be gearing up for this positive news, given our experience in handling various international markets into Langkawi and handling events such as LIMA.

“Langkawi still needs all the support it can get from local to international markets, more so since 2025 will be Visit Kedah Year”, said Dass to Penang Hyperlocal.
