Indigo Airlines expects to receive one plane a week following their order of 600 new aircrafts from Airbus.
This momentous effort will make IndiGo the largest airline in the world.
This new development was shared by Sanjiv Chawla, Vice President of IndiGo Airport Operation and Customer Services when met at the inaugural flight of their Chennai to Penang route.
Also present was Srinivasan Jayaseelan,Senior Manager Sales Tamil Nadu of IndiGo which was attended by Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai.
The airline recently commenced its Bengaluru to Langkawi route last week on Dec 16, 2024.
IndiGo is a low cost carrier based in Gurgaon, India that commenced operations in Aug-2006.
Presently they have 382 aircrafts including 30 Airbus A350 widebody aircrafts.
The A350s are intended to support IndiGo’s long-haul international growth, while the A320 family has helped the airline expand in domestic and regional markets.
