Playing their part as a caring corporate citizen, IJM Land made a generous contribution of RM10,000 towards the Tropical Spice Garden (TSG) in Teluk Bahang.
Present at a presentation ceremony was IJM Land Northern Region, Senior General Manager Dato Toh Chin Leong and Ms. Goh Su Yin, General Manager, Accounts and Finance of IJM Land recently.
On hand to receive the mock cheque was Jonathan Lim, Chief Storyteller of TSG at Menara IJM Land to mark the two-year sponsorship.
This is the second round of contribution from IJM Land to help TSG rebound to operate at pre-pandemic levels over the past 11 months.
As TSG strives to maintain, educate, and inspire communities, the funds received will help the establishment function as a community hub where individuals from various localities and backgrounds get together.
This year saw the reopening of all sectors of the economy and businesses, albeit at a gradual accelerated pace. TSG in Teluk Bahang is one of such establishments that had been partially operational but had subsequently recovered to fully restart operations.
TSG, often referred to as “Asia’s Hidden Eden”, is a place where wellness, adventure, play, and culture converge with nature. A nature habitat located on the northernmost point of Penang island, TSG is a biodiverse home to 500 living specimens of exotic and lush flora and wildlife from all over the world, as well as a potpourri of spices and other tropical plants.
It is a calming venue where wellness-based activities such as retreats, yoga, cooking classes and guided walks are held and, TSG is widely frequented by tourists as well as locals alike.
“We will encourage our staff to learn more about spices, while also understanding more and immersing ourselves in nature; which is known to have beneficial effects such as an improved state of emotional well-being and benefits for physical, cognitive, and mental healthâ. said Toh.
