The Hompton Hotel By The Beach may be the “new kid in town” but they got off to a roaring start when they were awarded the “Best Seaview Resort Hotel” award during the Malaysia Tourism Council Gold Awards 2019 in Kuala Lumpur recently.
On hand to receive the award was general manager Jimmy Chan.
The presentation ceremony was was officiated by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Over 80 awards were given out during the evening as a prelude to Visit Malaysia 2020 to recognise outstanding players in the Malaysian tourism industry.
This Awards Night encourages tourism and hospitality industry in Malaysia to promote the tourism business and create strong, positive branding hospitality globally.
The awards celebrate outstanding players and newcomers in the hospitality industry and showcases the accomplishments of Malaysia’s tourism products.
It also prepares industry players to be fully equipped with the best of facilities and services in a prelude the the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign , which is slated to bring in 30 million international visitors and RM 100 billion into Malaysia next year.
“This recognition will only spur us to do better and further improve on our service and care for our hotel guests,” said Chan after the award ceremony.
Hompton By The Beach Penang has some 240-rooms and two restaurant outlets.
All rooms are located from the 12th to the 32nd floor, giving guests uninterrupted views of the azure sea.
The highlights of the hotel include the picturesque infinite pool, the fitness centre and steam room.
For functions, Hompton Hall can accommodate up top 100 persons while the Home 1 and Home 2 function rooms have a capacity of 50 persons each.
Spice Garden is a non-smoking all-day dining outlet open for buffet breakfast, A la carte dining and for weekly buffets.
Meanwhile, the Elementos Tapas & Lounge offers al fresco dining and offers delicious tapas, drinks and feature main courses.
