Hilton’s luxury hotel and resort, the Conrad, will open in the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur by 2021.
The hotel is named after the late founder of the Hilton hotel chain, Conrad Hilton.
The hotel will be developed together with Malaysian government investment company Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB)
The 544-room will be built in the vicinity of the Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Raja Chulan area.
Great opportunity for luxury brand to grow in M’sia
Hilton’s Luxury and Lifestyle Group global head and executive vice-president Martin Rinck said the foray of the Conrad to KL is part of their expansion into Malaysia.
Guy Phillips, Hilton’s senior vice president (development, Asia & Australasia), said KL being the economic nucleus of the country and a city of tremendous tourism potential would be good for the hotel
“Leveraging this opportunity, we are excited to continue expanding our footprint and portfolio of brands across the country by working with the right partners on the right opportunities,” added Phillips.
He said with PNB as partner, they are truly honoured to be working alongside them to introduce our luxury Conrad brand to the burgeoning market.
Prime real estate in KL
The new Conrad will be located within the prime Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur and one hour by car from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the hotel will be part of a mixed-use development that also comprises an office tower.
Catering to both business and leisure guests, there will be a business centre, spa and fitness centre, as well as a pool.
Guests can also hold large-scale meetings and functions in the generous events space which measures approximately 3,400 square meters.
“Since we opened our first hotel in Malaysia 35 years ago, we have made it a focus to deliver great guest experiences to all who walk through our doors and the strength of the Hilton brand has laid the foundation for our growth.
“Today we have 11 hotels open across the country under Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn and it is a huge milestone for us to be launching our luxury brand, Conrad, into the market.
“The opening of Conrad Kuala Lumpur will bring a new level of service experience to the luxury traveler in Kuala Lumpur and we are confident the hotel will be top of mind for both leisure and business travelers visiting the city,” said Jamie Mead, regional general manager, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam, Hilton.
In Malaysia, over the next three to five years, Hilton is targeting to open nine hotels in its pipeline, including five hotels under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, as well as the introduction of lifestyle brand Canopy by Hilton.
