The German tourism conglomerate – TUI BLUE makes its first entry in Malaysia and Singapore.

TUI is an acronym for Touristik Union International (“Tourism Union International”). TUI AG was known as Preussag AG until 1997 when the company changed its activities from mining to tourism. 

It is headquartered in Hanover, Germany. TUI is the biggest tour operator in the world. 

They have 19 million customers a year, 400 over hotels and resorts, 17 cruise ships, five (5) airlines with 130 aircrafts, 1,200 travel agencies, and employees all over the world for its operation that spans over 140 countries.

Among the cruise ships are the Mein Schiff 9, Mein Schiff Relax, Mein Schiff 7, Mein Schiff 2, Mein Schiff 3, Mein Schiff 1, Mein Schiff 6, Mein Schiff 5, Mein Schiff 4, TUI Alma, TUI Isla, TUI Skyla, TUI Maya, TUI Al Horeya among others.

Their five airlines are the TUI Airways, TUI fly, TUI fly Belgium, TUI fly Netherlands and TUI fly Nordic, serving more than 180 destinations around the world.

TUI BLUE entry in Malaysia is following hir collaboration with The Haven Resort in Ipoh.

The strategic collaboration with TUI BLUE, is expected to mark a new chapter for The Haven Resort in its efforts in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.

Present to formalise the collaboration was the chief executive officer of TUI BLUE, Artur Gerber.

“It is with immense gratitude and excitement that I stand before you at this grand opening of TUI BLUE The Haven Ipoh. Today marks a significant milestone and landmark occasion for the TUI BLUE brand as we proudly launch our first TUI BLUE hotel in Malaysia, right here in the enchanting city of Ipoh.

“I extend my heartfelt thanks to all involved in this project and for the unwavering belief in our brand that has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life”, he said.

Also present was Jan Noether, Executive Director of The Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC), Peter Chan, CEO of The Haven, Ipoh City mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin among others.
