The Sunway Carnival Mall in Seberang Jaya launched its “Gaya Riang Raya” at its main atrium decked with ornaments and decorations from the Middle Eastern region.
Present at the ceremony was YB Izhar Shah Arif Shah ADUN Seberang Jaya, Tourism Malaysia Northern Region director Shahrul Aman, general manager of Sunway Carnival Mall, Chai Wen Yew, Head of Marketing, Wong Shu Ying and their team.
The setting this year has taken on a traditional marketplace which seamlessly blends with the lively spirit of the festivity.
The colourful bazaar showcases stalls adorned with intricate patterns, creating an atmosphere filled with vibrant hues, enhancing the festive ambiance. Highlights include the Raya Art & Craft Kids Workshop, Angklung Performance, Malay Traditional Dance Performance, Gamelan Music Performance and Drums Performance.
Meanwhile, guests at the launch ceremony were treated to an angklung musical presentation followed by a short opening speech by Izhar Shah. He later joined hands with Chai to hang up a symbolic lamp to mark the festive occasion.
Celebrations will be on-going till April 14, 2024 for all shoppers to enjoy and partake.
More importantly, in keeping with Sunway Sustainable Development Goals, they have adorned their décor area with eco-friendly décor materials. They have utilised recycled materials including gunny bags from daily spices packaging and paper cones sourced from printing houses.
Usually discarded after use, these paper cones find new life as charming decorative accents for their spice stall. Moreover, the frames of the magnificent lanterns are crafted from reclaimed wood, furthering our commitment to sustainability.
Among the activities curated with families in mind, they offer a range of experiences for all ages. From handicraft workshops to traditional performances, there are plenty of opportunities for shoppers to bond with their loved ones together.
