The Penang Port Commission (PPC) and Penang Port Sdn Bhd will offer free ferry rides for all this Jan 24 and 25th, 2024 from 12am to 11.30pm in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebrations.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative is expected to benefit not only those celebrating Thaipusam but also the many tourists who visit the island.
The fleet of ferries are expected to make 52 round trips over the two days.
The gesture will not only offer savings for the general public but also help alleviate the traffic congestion in the city.
The announcement was made by Transport Minister Anthony Loke yesterday.
