Folks in Seberang Perai will get a brand new market by March next year.
This is following the ground breaking ceremony for the new market performed by Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow and State Exco for Local Government, Town and Country Planning, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo.
“We are replacing the old market which is almost 30-years-old. The new market will surely benefit the local residents here.
“It will also contribute to enhancing the local economy here,” said Chow.
Meanwhile, Jagdeep said that the new market will have facilities to assist 482 traders throughout the vicinity here in Seberang Jaya.
“This is in line with our Penang 2030 Vision which encompasses a green, smart city that inspires the nation.
To-date there are 59 public markets both on the Island and mainland which has been upgraded or built newly.
“This new building will have green features with features like solar panels and water harvesting facilities.
Also present was YB Nurul Izzah Anwar at the launching ceremony.
