Penang City Council workers have been warned that disciplinary action can be taken against them if they refuse to be vaccinated.
The warning was issued by Penang state exco for Housing, Town and Country Planning Jagdeep Singh Deo.
“What is the point of other people getting vaccinated but a few do not. This also defeats the purpose of all of us following SOPs.
“There is still a risk of infection if these people do not get vaccinated.
“We support the federal government’s stand on this matter and we will not compromise,” said Jagdeep.
The call is in line with the Prime Minister’s reminder for those who have not been vaccinated to get themselves vaccinated.
Dato Sri Ismail Sabri also reminded all teachers to get themselves vaccinated as the new school term will start as of Nov 1 2021 for those states eligible.
