Dato Yeoh Soon Hin is the new Penang Port Commission (PPC) chairman
Two former tourism industry related Penangites are back in the limelight.
Dato Yeoh Soon Hin, the former State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy has been appointed as the chairman of Penang Penang Port Commission (PPC), while the former PPC chairman Jeffrey Chew has also been appointed chairman of Teluk Ewa port in Langkawi (PPCTE), effective Feb 20, 2024.
The Star Online had reported the above appointments yesterday. The tenure for both posts will be until Feb 19, 2027.
The Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke had announced that the appointments have received the consent of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia,
Jeffrey Chew is the new chairman of Teluk Ewa port in Langkawi
Meanwhile, it is worthy to note that Yeoh was a three-term Paya Terubong assemblyman. He was also appointed as Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman in October 2023.
As for Chew, he is also the board member of the Penang Hill Corporation.
