In conjunction with World Children’s Day this month, Coway Malaysia celebrates and cherishes the future generations and emphasises that it is important to care for the health and wellbeing of fellow children.
As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), they sponsored air purifiers and water purifiers to all three Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) across Malaysia.
The three RMH are – RMH UKM Hospital and RMH Tunku Azizah Hospital in Kuala Lumpur as well as RMH USM Hospital in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.
Having clean water and healthy air is a basic necessity which should be readily available to all. Be it at home, office or in public, it is a necessity which cannot be compromised for health reasons.
Through this contribution, the company aims to equip the homes with air and water purifiers, ensuring a more comfortable and convenient environment for families of paediatric patients who are seeking long-term medical treatment in hospitals, so that they can focus on taking care of their ill children.
This thoughtful gesture, and collaboration with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), is also Coway’s way of showing that they care and are always ready to help those in need.
“RMHC is already doing so much to help these sick children and their families. We believe strongly in supporting their cause as these children are our future generation and the least we could do is help complete the homes with clean indoor air and pure water, assuring them that Coway stands together with them, so that they can stay healthy and strong for their children,” said Kyle Choi Ki Ryong, Managing Director of Coway Malaysia.
RMHC is a facility that offers families of long-term paediatric patients affordable and comfortable accommodation within the hospital grounds. It is generally occupied by families of patients who require long-term medical treatment and is a place they can call their home-away-from-home.
With RMHC being located on hospital grounds, families of paediatric patients can always be nearby without having to worry about expensive hotel stays.
“As we all know, the cost of paediatric treatment is high and I know parents already have a hundred and one things to worry about. It is with hope that our sponsorship will give families living there a peace of mind knowing that the air they breathe and water they drink is healthy and clean. These family members must be able to enjoy quality living because caring for a sick child can take a toll on anyone. We strive to care for them both physically and mentally,” said Choi.
He added that Coway truly cares for the well-being of the various communities in Malaysia and wants to provide a happier and healthier home to the families of ill children.
“This sponsorship is also in line with Coway Malaysia’s We Stand as One campaign − we believe that we can overcome challenges by coming together as a community. One of the ways of coming together is to help each other, especially those in need. No one gets left behind. With that, I hope that our sponsorship to RMHC will make a difference in the lives of those seeking accommodation there,” he added.
Being the Best Life Solution Company, Coway Malaysia aims to provide solutions that actively change lives, and one of the ways to do it is by providing clean air and water for all.
“We are truly grateful to Coway Malaysia for the product sponsorship. We at RMHC also believe in the importance of clean air and clean water, which is a basic necessity for all. The families living in our houses are already under a lot of stress with their children needing long-term treatment so every little bit helps. Providing them with purified air and healthy water is a very thoughtful gesture as this simple act of kindness will go a long way for these families,” said Mohd Nasri Mohd Nordin, General Manager of RMHC Malaysia.
