The Tanjong Point Residences in Tanjung Tokong carried out a commendable corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative at their beach front where some 20 staff members and volunteers gathered recently.
Lending support were also several in-house guests who volunteered for the event.
Armed with gloves, brooms, rakes, sanitisers and trash bags, they started off the project to collect debris like plastic bottles, cans, ciragreets, food containers and other unwanted rubbish from the beach area.
After toiling till almost noon, they had collected a total of 50 kgs of waste material.
Among the room guests were Stanley Eze Ebuka from Nigeria, Joseph Benjamin from the United States of America and Rick Wells from Australia.
General manager of the Tanjong Point Residences, Punitha Mary, said that the project was the first after the lifting of the Covid-19 lockdown and they plan to hold more CSR activities in the coming months.
“We are happy to see the participation of volunteers and room guests who wanted to help out in the community programme,” she added.
“I thought the beach clean-up project was a great idea although it became hot and humid as the sun came up later in the morning,” said Benjamin, adding that he also enjoyed a nice lunch after the CSR project.
Syabas to Tanjong Point Residences for organizing such a meaningful project to save the environment.
