The Year of the Snake at Hai Yan – Known as the ‘little dragon’, the snake symbolizes wisdom, charm, and transformation. Led by executive Chinese chef Wang Canhua, the culinary team has curated an eight-course degustation dinner, with bountiful dishes for the whole family to enjoy as they reunite beneath the glowing lanterns of Hai Yan. The Malaysian tradition of tossing Yee Sang, known as Yu Sheng which sounds like ‘abundance’, starts this exciting dinner with fresh salmon, atop a colorful bed of white radish, leek, cucumber and red cabbage. The dinner continues with highlights such as:Fried Crab with Onion, Ginger and Rice Cakes.
The dragon comes alive in this beautifully plated dish, where succulent dover sole is fried and plated in the shape of a golden dragon. Glazed in homemade smoked sauce, each bite is a burst of flavor, making this dish a standout highlight in our Lunar New Year Indulgence menu.Steamed Lobster with Garlic, Capsicum and Glass Noodles.
These delicately crafted noodles are infused with charcoal, topped with sweet sea urchin, salmon role and paired with scallion oil. The result is a decadent visual and flavor-filled feast for the senses.
Wok-Fried Rice with Black Pepper Wagui and Garlic Baby Potatoes – A celebration of rich and nuanced flavors, complemented by the luxurious addition of Caviar. The succulent duck meat, tender from 168 hours of meticulous aging, is paired with a luscious Plum Sauce, creating a sweet and savory note. Served alongside Mantou, this dish is a gastronomic journey that embodies the essence of opulence and tradition. A Prosperous Feast at Langkawi Kitchen – Let the sound of the nature and the enchanting view of Langkawi’s ancient rainforest embrace you, as Malaysian favorites meet a smorgasbord of Chinese delights at Langkawi Kitchen, with the Prosperity Dinner buffet. Paying homage to Malaysia’s multicultural heritage with Chinese, Indian, Malay and Thai dishes and live stations, families can reunite and celebrate our diversity during this meaningful season.

Leo welcomes The Year of the Snake at Ritz Kids – With Langkawi home to over 40 species of snakes, it’s only fitting that our adorable mascot Leo the Lion embarks on exciting activities celebrating the new year. The Ritz Kids team has created a variety of exciting and educational activities that encourage both celebration and creativity in the little ones, ensuring your Lunar New Year holiday is unforgettable. Some of the activities on offer are:Lion Dance – With Malaysia’s style of lion dance originating from Guangdong province in Southern China, watch in awe as colorful lions leap in the air, flying across poles of various heights. The dynamic sound of cymbals and drums fill the air, as they wish for a joyful and fortuitous year at our Arrival Lodge from 10.30am – 11.30am on 30 January.
Zodiac Treasure Hunt – Find the twelve animals of the zodiac, as you explore the resort’s lush garden area beside our tennis court and the open-air Pondok-Pondok. During your hunt you may spot our native wild neighbors playing in the trees, from the majestic Great Hornbill to the adorable Dusky Leaf Monkey. Dumpling Making – Chinese New Year is synonymous with food-filled celebrations, and children have the opportunity to learn the time-honored art of dumpling making at the resort’s open-air venue Pondok-Pondok. Available at MYR 30 per child from 4.00pm to 5.30pm on 29 January.
