Popularly known as Chef Joe, Md Zulkanai Md Elias is the new executive sous chef at the Resort World Langkawi.
He comes with many years of experience in the culinary industry.
Among the hotels he had worked at are the Golden Sands Resort, Hard Rock Hotel Penang, Soho group and even on the cruise ship QE11.
He even has a nickname – Chef Joe “Flying Pizza” as he is a showman doing tricks and spins with the pizza.
He started his career in 1999 and has not turned back as he has taken on new challenge after challenge in the hospitality industry.
He had also worked alongside Chef Emmanuel Stroobant or better known as the Chef in Black during his career.
Chef Joe had also won numerous local and international awards over the years.
Among them include the Western & Italian Chef and F&B innovative awards at Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards HAPA awards and Western & Italian Chef at Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards HAPA awards.
His many appearances on national TV stations and print media are also a recognition of his talents.
He specialises in Italian & Western cuisine served in fresh ingredients and unique style.
Resort general manager, Isaac Ishak shared that their on going “Italiano Karipap’s Pizza” is surely a mouth watering dish for all to enjoy.
