With International borders reopening, tourism related activities are making a comeback.
One such activity is the upcoming bikers group from Bangkok who are on their recce trip to Penang.
They were greeted by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Penang branch director, Jonathan Freddy Bagang at his office along Beach Street here.
Joining him was Hotel Neo+ Penang general manager, Gulab Rai, Heliconia Hotel manager Michelle Richards and Pauline Chua, general manager of Shama Sukhumvit Bangkok, Ekamai Gardens and the Emmaline Hotel Nan in Bangkok.
Chua who hails from Penang is the brainchild of the bikers project, helping promote Penang’s tourism industry.
The nine-member group is led by Chartiporn Sinsuwan who is also the official translator for the group. They hope to make their trip here later in August.
“We welcome your group to Penang and Malaysia and hope you will enjoy the food and places of interest here. I understand that your team will visit Penang Hill, The Habitat, The Top, Peranakan Mansion and the Kek Lok Si Temple,” added Jonathan.
Almost all of the visiting members are on their first visit to Penang. They hope to bring their group of riders from Bangkok to Penang on a 12- hour ride.
“We had the opportunity to try the nasi lemak here and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We are also looking forward to bringing our whole team to Penang later this year,” added Chartiporn.
