Betelnut KL – a renowned and legendary name in Malaysia’s nightlife history is set to return for one last, unforgettable evening.
On Saturday, 27 September 2025, Prime One, Menara TA One Kuala Lumpur will host BETELNUT KualaLumpur – THE FINAL REUNION PARTY 2025, a celebration of music, memories, and the man who first brought it all to life.
Launched in 1986 by Ken Chia, BETELNUT Kuala Lumpur Fun Pub quickly became a cultural landmark in the city’s nightlife scene. Perched on stilts at No. 16 Jalan Pinang, the wooden structure exuded rustic charm while offering something revolutionary for its time, a “Fun Pub” concept dedicated exclusively to the rock sounds of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s.
With a formula built on nostalgia rock, charismatic DJs, and a vibrant community of expats and locals, BETELNUT became more than just a pub. It became an era. From witty banter by the DJs to the unforgettable bar (whose cheeky design is still talked about today), the venue created a soundtrack to countless memories for those who passed through its doors.
Nearly three decades later, that spirit returns. The Final Reunion will not only bring together old friends and familiar faces, but also mark the birthday celebration of founder Ken Chia, making this night a fitting tribute to his enduring legacy.
The Line-Up: Seven original DJ legends of the decks will return to recreate the magic: – Robert Mah, Francis Koh, OJ, Pate Othman, David Chew with special appearances by Skin and Philippe De Souza.
