Delegates and participants of the 9th edition of BE @ Penang 2025, currently underway at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, were treated to an unforgettable sunset adventure—a breezy catamaran cruise skimming across Penang’s famous waters.

Leading the excursion was Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) Chief Executive Officer, Ashwin Gunasekeran and his team members. They were accompanied by Hiroshi Tamura, CEO & Founder of Trend Maker Company Limited and widely celebrated as the Father of the Modern GT-R.

The trip quickly turned into a highlight of the programme as the sleek catamarans glided towards the iconic Penang First Bridge. While thousands cross it every day, very few ever get the rare chance to admire its impressive architecture from below—up close, open-air, and only reachable by boat. Cameras clicked, the sea breeze picked up and laughter rolled across the decks as guests soaked in a fresh perspective of the landmark.

In true Penang style, things only got better. Participants were invited to take a dip in the warm sea, cooling off as the sky turned shades of orange and pink. The scene made for perfect sunset-chasing moments—and a few playful splashes for good measure.

The catamarans then cruised onward to Forest Island, a quirky and vibrant floating attraction anchored off Pulau Jerejak. Known for its fun mix of water sports, seafood dining, and laid-back island vibes, Forest Island gave delegates a taste of Penang’s outdoor charm and a carefree escape from the conference halls.

As twilight settled in, guests gathered for a fine dinner on board, mingling, exchanging ideas, and building new connections—all set against the backdrop of gentle waves and twinkling coastal lights.

The evening wrapped up as one of those magical Penang moments: breezy, scenic and full of camaraderie, proof that learning and networking can sometimes be even better when done on a catamaran under the open sky.
