Tun Ahmad Fuzi signing the plaque

The Stadium Mini Permatang Rawa, located in Bandar Perda, was officially launched last Sunday (August 14, 2022) by the Governor of Penang Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak.

The community stadium was actually completed in October 2021, and started welcoming sports enthusiasts the following month.

AEI International Berhad was appointed by the Penang state government to assume the operations, maintenance, and the running of the stadium.

“We opened our doors to the public late last year and we were pleasantly surprised to receive such overwhelming support from the community,” said Dato’ Joseph Kow, Managing Director, AEI International Berhad.

The stadium offers a football field equipped with FIFA-approved synthetic turf, a grandstand, 5 futsal courts, and high wattage lighting to facilitate games at night.

“We have people from different age groups and backgrounds coming together at this stadium and playing football and futsal every day. We have hosted various tournaments of various scales, and we are also one of the training grounds for the Penang Football Club,” Kow.

According to him, AEI International Berhad aims for Stadium Mini Permatang Rawa to be a place where communities can gather while nurturing the love for sports and play.

He also hopes for the stadium to be the sporting ground of choice for all football and futsal players in Penang.

Also present was State Exco for Youth and Sports Soon Lip Chee representing the Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Member of Parliament for Bagan Lim Guan Eng, State Exco for Infrastructure and Transport, Zairil Khir Johari among others.
