The Amari SPICE Penang launched its Amazing Thai Cuisine and Loy Krathong Festival celebration earlier today.
Lending support was Mr Raschada Jiwalai the Consul General of Thailand in Penang and general manager Noorazzudin Omar and heads of departments of the hotel.
The hotel brought Master Thai chef Poltap Paktarapantanon (also known as Chef NOT) all the way from Amari Bangkok for this promotion.
He will be assisted by Amari SPICE Penang’s culinary team led by Executive Sous Chef Yusry Yusoff and his team.
The promotion of Thai dishes for buffet dinner is from November 25 to December 16, 2023.
The collaboration is brought with the Amari Bangkok and the Royal Thai Consul General in Penang.
The Amazing Thai Cuisine is featuring Amari Bangkok’s Thai Chef Poltap Paktarapantanon (also known as Chef NOT) and together with Amari SPICE Penang’s culinary team led by Executive Sous Chef Yusry Yusoff will be cooking.
The selection of popular Thai dishes for buffet dinner is from 25 November to 16 December 2023.
The Amazing Thai Cuisine, the Royal Thai Consul General in Penang will sponsor two pots of Thai Holy Basil for the hotel and hence, launching Amari SPICE Penang’s Herbs Garden on 25 November 2023. The Thai Holy Basil plant is a rare basil species in Malaysia and these two plants are from the garden of Mr Raschada Jiwalai the Consul General of Thailand in Penang.
During the launch of Amazing Thai Cuisine at Amaya Food Gallery, Mr. Raschada Jiwalai made his presence at the Amaya Food Gallery’s Kitchen to dish up a popular home-cooked dish – “Gai Phad Kraprow – Thai Holy Basil Chicken”at the geathering.
Amazing Thai Cuisine Buffet Dinner is featured from Monday to Saturday from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm at Amaya Food Gallery. Dinner patrons/guests who dine in during this period are eligible for the Amazing Thai Cuisine contest and stand a chance to win a 3-day/2-night stay in Amari Bangkok.
The promotion is priced at RM148 nett per person (adult) and RM108 nett per Senior Citizen aged 60 years and above / Child aged 6 to 12 years.
The Amazing Thai Cuisine is also organized in conjunction with Loy Krathong celebration week, hence the hotel will be celebrating its first Loy Krathong festival during the launch day on 25 November 2023.
In conjunction with these auspicious celebrations, the Royal Thai Consul General in Penang has assisted the hotel with The Loy Krathong decorations, krathong items and will be leading the Krathong floating occasion which will be held at the hotel.

For the records, during the Loy Krathong festival people gather around lakes, rivers and canals to pay respects to the goddess of water by releasing beautiful lotus-shaped rafts decorated with candles, incense and flowers onto the water.
