Meet Ms Teh Beng Lyn, known simply as Lyn to friends and colleagues—Aariana Hospitality International’s newly appointed Consultant, Learning and Development.
A familiar and well-respected name in Penang’s hospitality scene, Lyn brings with her years of hands-on experience gained from esteemed brands such as the Shangri-La Hotel Group, Hard Rock Hotel Penang and Penang Marriott Hotel.
Her academic qualifications are also impressive as she holds the Certified and Accredited Train the Trainer by Human Resources Development Corp (HRD Corp), 2019 & 2025, Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by International Coaching Federation (ICF), August 2025, Certified Hospitality Manager (CHM) by American Hospitality & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), September 2025, Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) by American Hospitality & Lodging Association (AHLA), 2007, Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Queensland, Australia (Major in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations), 2001.
Meanwhile, her journey through leading hotels has shaped not only her operational expertise, but also her deep understanding of people, the heart of the hospitality industry.
Beyond hotel operations, Lyn has found her true calling in education and mentorship. Over the years, she has devoted herself to teaching and coaching hospitality professionals at all levels, helping them grow in confidence, capability and leadership.
What motivates her most is being a catalyst for positive change, shaping mindsets, inspiring better workplace behaviours, and unlocking potential.
Her personal career motto says it all: to help, influence, and change people for the better through teaching and learning—together.
Most recently, Lyn served as the Facilitator for the Certified Hospitality Manager (CHM) course held at Wings by Croske Resort Langkawi. She will next lead the CHM course at Sunway Georgetown Penang from 3–5 February 2026.
The CHM programme is ideal for hospitality professionals currently serving as Resident Managers, Executive Assistant Managers, Directors of Operations and Heads of Department (HODs) who are ready to step confidently into the next level of leadership.
