Come Wednesday, August 25, the Penang state government is confident that 50% of its adult population will receive the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccination.
Meanwhile, come tomorrow, Aug 23, they expect that 80% of its adult population will receive their first dose.
Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow disclosed this at a press conference at the Design Village yesterday.
“If we can receive a total of 917,220 doses of Covid-19 vaccine for August as scheduled earlier, then we are confident that these targets can be achieved.
“Every dose is important for us to achieve herd immunity in the state and also for Penang to move on to the next phase of the National Recovery Plan,” said Chow.
Also present was Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) secretary-general Datuk Seri Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad and his officers.
