Ten buses have been modified to ramp up the vaccination programme in Penang.

Dubbed the “Community Vaccine Mobilisation Programme” (MOVAC), they will be utilised to facilitate the vaccination of hawkers and traders in the state.

“There are some 12,000 traders and hawkers throughout the state in all five districts.

“They will operate from Aug 30 till Sept 2, 2021 from 8.30am to 3pm. At any one time, two buses will stop at designated locations in the five districts.

“Among the locations they will stop in Seberang Perai Utara at Dewan Dato’ Haji Ahmad Badawi, Butterworth, Seberang Perai Tengah at Kompleks Sukan Jalan Betek, Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Perai Selatan at Stadium Batu Kawan, Batu Kawan, on the island’s Timur Laut District at Stadium Bandaraya, George Townand Barat Daya District at Dewan Perda, Teluk Kumbar,” said state exco for Housing, Local Government and Town & Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo.

He was on his working visit to the Teluk Kumbar to launch the market complex there.

In the meantime he asked all to comply with SOP’s and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
