As the covid-19 pandemic hits record numbers in Penang, the Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia ramped up its aid to several hospitals here.
The hospitals received on loan some 220 units of oxygen concentrators.
Among them were the Penang General Hospital, Kepala Batas General Hospital, Bukit Mertajam General Hospital Sungai Bakap General Hospital, Seberang Prai General Hospital and the Balik Pulau General Hospital.
Tzu-Chi commissioner, Dato Khoo Boo Leong and the able team were on hand to present the equipment.
“As the covid-19 pandemic gets more serious, Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia will provide on loan 220 units of Oxygen Concentrators to hospitals across a few states.
Other beneficiary-hospitals include those in Kulim, Kedah, Penang, Taiping, Perak and Kelantan.
“In addition, Tzu-Chi will be giving eight units of High Flow Cannula to Penang General Hospital today (Aug 12).
“These are part of the organization’s on-going effort to help fight the covid-19 pandemic.
“We hope to inspire compassion in more people and organizations to contribute towards our society,” said Khoo.
