IJM Land Berhad, the developer of THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, wishes to inform the public of temporary closure of the George Town-bound route and traffic diversions on Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
The route closure and traffic diversions are scheduled on the following dates: 7 – 9 September 2026, from 10pm to 5am.
The affected work areas will be from Jalan Tunku Kudin junction until Jalan Ahmad Nor (as marked in red, in the attached document). These works are part of the ongoing construction of the elevated U-turn, which will complement the Air Itam Bypass and improve traffic flow on Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly, follow the updated road signages and exercise caution when travelling through the affected area to ensure smooth and safe navigation.
Further updates on closures and diversions will be communicated as the project progresses.
