The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) and the Malaysia Towerrunning Association (MTA) successfully concluded its inaugural MAH Towerrunning Championship 2026 (MTC2026).

This landmark event served as an industry-led initiative to position Malaysia as a premier sports tourism destination and a new addition to the country’s growing urban sports and sports tourism landscape.

The championship saw participants take on an intense climb of 51 floors, covering 1,186 steps, testing both physical endurance and mental resilience.

Held in the early hours of the morning, the event featured a mix of seasoned towerrunning athletes and first-time participants from MAH member establishments.

The event was graced by both MAH and MTA leadership, alongside representatives from Tourism Malaysia, including Mohd Ashrul Ashraf, Deputy Director (Package Development Division) and Zurina, Senior Deputy Director (VM2026 Secretariat).

Beyond the competition, participants also enjoyed a lucky draw session featuring hotel stays and dining experiences providing more chances for both competitive runners and casual participants to be rewarded.

MAH and MTA extend our appreciation to all participants, partners, volunteers and supporters who contributed to the success of this event.

Present to give away the prizes was MAH president Christina Toh, Vice president Dato Khoo Boo Lim, CEO Isaac Raj among others.
