It was a joyous early Christmas and New Year celebration for residents of the Dato Keramat constituency, who came together for a festive afternoon filled with good food, cheerful entertainment and warm fellowship at the Taman Free School field.
The lively gathering was hosted by Penang Deputy Chief Minister II, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo, who is also the State Assemblyman for Dato Keramat. The event reflected the spirit of unity and togetherness as residents from diverse backgrounds gathered to celebrate the year-end festive season as one community.
Also present in support of the celebration were Penang Island City Council Mayor Dato A. Rajendran and his wife, adding further cheer to the occasion.

Adding a special touch to the festivities were children from Cheshire Home Penang, who delighted the audience with heartfelt Christmas carol performances, spreading joy and goodwill among the guests.
In his welcoming address, Jagdeep extended his warmest wishes to everyone present, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. He also expressed his optimism for the year ahead, highlighting ongoing efforts and future plans for the state and the community.
“We look forward to the New Year, and there are many more initiatives and programmes to be carried out for the benefit of the state and the community at large,” he said.

Guests from all walks of life enjoyed a sumptuous spread of local favourites while being entertained by lively song and dance performances throughout the afternoon. Beyond the food and entertainment, the celebration served as a meaningful platform to strengthen bonds, foster new friendships and reinforce the strong sense of camaraderie among residents, truly embodying the festive spirit of the season.
