The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Kedah/Perlis Chapter held its quarterly meeting at the scenic Dash Resort Langkawi, drawing a record number of participants from across the hospitality industry.

Attendees included General Managers, Hotel Managers, Directors of Operations, and senior representatives from various hotels and resorts on the island. The high turnout reflected the growing engagement and collaborative spirit within the local hospitality community.

MAH Kedah/Perlis Chairman, Eugene Dass, shared that the meeting provided an important platform for members to discuss current challenges and developments within the industry. 

Key topics on the agenda included the regulation of Short-Term Rentals (STR), swimming pool safety protocols, upcoming training initiatives and updates on the ongoing inter-hotel football tournament.

Among the esteemed hotels and resorts represented were StarCity Alor Setar, Pelangi Beach Resort Langkawi, Parkroyal Langkawi, The Danna, Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah, Holiday Villa Langkawi, Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang, Bayview Langkawi, Wings By Croske Resort Langkawi, The Datai, The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa, The Bayou Resort, Dayang Bay Resort Langkawi and Riyaz Lavanya, among others.

The meeting was followed by a sumptuous buffet dinner hosted by the Dash Resort’s F&B team. Guests were treated to an impressive spread featuring fresh seafood, local delicacies, and international cuisine, set against the resort’s stunning beachfront backdrop.

The evening also served as an introduction for several newly appointed General Managers on the island, including Remco Rademaker of The Danna, Bennet Chong of Dash Resort, and Ms. Jaswinder Kaur, Hotel Manager of Riyaz Lavanya. 

Their introductions marked an opportunity for members to connect, exchange ideas and welcome new leadership into the fold.

Beyond the formalities, the gathering fostered camaraderie and deeper networking among industry peers, further strengthening the bonds within Langkawi’s hospitality fraternity.
