The Penang Chapter of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) hosted a vibrant Durian Fest Networking Session, bringing together industry stakeholders, business associates and members of the media for an evening of camaraderie and indulgence.
Held in the lively vicinity of Times Square along Jalan Dato Keramat, the event created a unique platform for tourism players to reconnect and foster closer working relationships in a relaxed, informal setting.
The event was graced by the State Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Wong Hon Wai, who lent his support to the initiative aimed at strengthening partnerships within the tourism ecosystem.
Wong was warmly received by MATTA Penang Chapter Chairperson Ms. Carolyn Leong and her dedicated team.

Also in attendance were several notable guests, including Madam Ding Xiao, representing the Chinese Vice Consul General in Penang; Penang Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Chairman, Dato’ Tony Goh, Clement Liang, tourism players among others.
Guests were treated to a delectable selection of Penang’s most beloved durian varieties. The rich spread featured iconic favorites such as the famed Musang King, Red Thorn, D24, and Red Prawn, each known for its unique aroma, texture and flavor profile.
The gathering proved to be a delightful and memorable occasion, combining the king of fruits with meaningful dialogue and networking among Penang’s tourism stakeholders.
Many attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage with peers while savoring one of the country’s most prized seasonal delicacies.
