IJM Land Berhad (“IJM Land”), wishes to provide the following update on the pedestrian bridge dismantling works currently underway along the George Town-bound lanes of Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway, in relation to The
Light Interchange development.

The dismantling works are scheduled to take place nightly from 18 to 27 June 2025, between 10pm and 5am. On the first night of works (18 June), unanticipated technical complications were encountered due to the complexity of the bridge structure and limited crane manoeuvrability within the confined work site.

As a result, lane reopening was delayed beyond the scheduled window, causing
congestion during the morning peak. Traffic flow resumed by 8:30am. IJM Land deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to road users and surrounding community, and extends its apologies for the disruption.

Additional measures are being put in place ahead of subsequent scheduled nights to minimise further impact. Key steps include:
● Reviewing and adjusting dismantling procedures to improve efficiency
● Repositioning equipment to optimise site access
● Enhancing coordination with relevant authorities to support traffic management

The works are being carried out with strict safety protocols in place, with measures taken to minimise disruption to traffic and nearby communities.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative routes during this period. IJM Land appreciates the public’s understanding as these infrastructure works progress towards improving long-term traffic connectivity in the area.
