Connoisseurs of premium Italian wine gathered at The Danna Langkawi Resort & Beach Villas for the one-night only showcase of an elegant wine range and dinner.
The fine array of wines was brought together with the collaboration of Ethica Wines and S.H. Maju Sdn.Bhd.
Leading the tasting session was Ethica Wines APAC Regional Sales Manager Diego Sebastian Todone who hails from Italy.
A select group of 25 guests from the island’s hospitality industry enjoyed fine wine and dined with a splendid menu put out by the Food & Beverage Department of the resort.
For starters, guests gathered for a rooftop soiree with elevated views of Langkawi’s famed beach sunset, paired delightfully with the soft bubbles of La Gioiosa Asolo Prosecco Superiore 2023 to get their appetite going.
As the fine dinner proceeded, the first course of Hokkaido Scallop Carpaccio, Avruga Caviar with Green Apple, was paired with Anselmi San Vincenzo Bianco 2013.
As they awaited the second course, the Villa Sparina Gavi 2023 went well with Black Cod, porcini mushroom and garlic confit and saffron braised lentils was served. More delicious food was served with the third course of Pan-Roasted Lamb served with Villalta Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2013.
Finally, guests were treated to the fourth course of Sous Vide Black Angus Rib Eye paired with Mirafiore Barolo 2015 to savour the evening.
As desserts of White Peach Chilled Soup came out, they were paired with the Scarpa Moscato d’Asti 2022 to round up the night.
Among those present was Alfred Low, managing director of S.H. Maju Sdn. Bhd, Neoh Kean Boon, general manager of Pelangi Beach Resort Langkawi, Danny Yeo, general manager Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang, Wong Ai Lin, general manager Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi and Au Yong Hin Yoong, general manager PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort.
Other general managers attending were Garry Chan general manager of PL Soon Huat Realty Sdn Bhd and Rajesh interim general manager of Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah.
Surely at the end of the session, Ethica Wines slogan – “We share Italian wines with the World” truly lived up to its motto.
