In 2023, Penang welcomed 35,223 Taiwanese visitors, and in 2024, that number surged to 42,035 – an impressive 19.34% increase. Taiwan is now Penang’s fourth-largest international tourist market, following Indonesia, Singapore, and China.
In addition to showcasing Penang’s tourism appeal, the delegation also engaged in discussions with leading Taiwanese airlines, including China Airlines, Tigerair Taiwan, Starlux Airlines, and HK Express, to explore potential direct flight opportunities, making travel between Taiwan and Penang even more seamless.
