Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow was on hand to launch the new Garage which is the latest F&B and entertainment hub in George Town.

Prior to that, back in the days, it was Wearne Brothers’ first automotive showroom in Malaysia.

For those who remember, the Garage was also the centre of nightlife activity from the early 2001 till 2017 with several clubs and party venues.

Among them were the Slippery Senoritas or popularly known as SS among party-goers. It used to have live bands from the Philippines and featured talented deejays too.

The SS was “the place ” to be seen and party or to meet people from all sorts of industries.

Another club was the “Pink Club”; which was popular with deejays and “butterfly” ladies.

Adjacent was the “Bungalow” which featured deejays too. It is now the popular Kenny Hills Bakers.

Moving forward, the new Garage presently offers a myriad of outlets, namely the MOJO JOJO, a modern Asian and European fusion eatery, Lotus Cars Penang, Chagee, Yu Village by Edo Echi Group, Zai San Bei, UMI-UMI Japanese Restaurant, Kashmir, a delectable spot for Middle Eastern cuisine, Harison Premium Chocolate, 海纳百川 Beef Steamboat from FuZhou, China and Me’nate Steak House.

Other F&B outlets nearby are the  award-winning contemporary Thai  Restaurant and Bar – SOOD by Chef Ton, Asia’s No. 1 celebrity chef and SS Family Wellness, side by side at Farquhar Mansions.

The Garage is now owned by VST Property.
