The Gurney Paragon Mall by Hunza Group held its Christmas tree lighting ceremony dubbed, “An Illuminating Christmas” in collaboration with a host of VIP guests and NGOs.
Present was YB Syerleena Rashid Member of Parliament for Bukit Bendera, YB Joshua Woo State Assemblyman for Pulau Tiku, representatives from Cosas United – Soo Boon Chin, Managing Director of Rofina Group, Ms Wong Yeng Fong, Executive Director of Rofina Group and from Standard Chartered Bank, Ms Michelle Melvin Chee, Head, Branch Distribution.
Also present was Dato’ Seri Khor Teng Tong, Founder and Advisor of HunzaGroup along with Ms Koay Bee Fong, Chief Operation Officer of Gurney Paragon Mall.
The mall’s atrium transformed into a dazzling display of colourful lights, reflective ornaments and abundant presents to reflect a true kaleidoscope of festive wonder.
Children from the Crystal Family Home and the Stonyhurst International School Penang were also invited for the ceremony.
“We are grateful to Cosas United and Standard Chartered Bank for their support in making this season memorable for our community,” said Koay.
Dancers from the Penang Modern Dance Ensemble (Euphoria) entertained guests with their performance while the children of Stonyhurst International School Penang presented Christmas carols.
The VIP guests joined hands to launch the ceremony to the applause and cheers of guests and children.
Shoppers to the mall will be entertained by festive performances by the live music by Bentley Music and Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, children’s theatre and colouring contest by MyPenang Creative and a K-Pop dance competition.
Santa Claus will also make his appearance to greet children.
