As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and in view of the up-coming Festival of Lights, The Light Hotel Penang embarked on a community programme to assist a local family in dire need of assistance.
A team consisting of management and also rank and file employees managed to bring much-needed joy, hope and brightness to the family.
Recognizing the significance of this festival, which symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, the hotel’s staff dedicated their time and effort to refurbish a home and its surroundings.
The team meticulously painted the house, transforming it into a vibrant space that reflects the spirit of Deepavali.
In addition to this uplifting renovation, the hotel provided essential groceries, ensuring that the family could celebrate the festival with the necessary provisions.
This holistic approach not only enhances the physical environment but also nurtures the emotional well-being of those involved.
Moreover, The Light Hotel Penang has extended its support by offering job opportunities to family members, thus fostering a pathway towards economic stability.
This gesture underscores the hotel’s commitment to uplifting the local community, demonstrating that goodwill can transcend the busy atmosphere often associated with hospitality.
Despite the demands of their roles within the hotel, the management and staff remain steadfast in their dedication to philanthropy.
“This connection has cultivated a sense of empathy and respect, reinforcing the notion that our contributions, no matter how small, can have a significant impact.
“Our action epitomizes the true essence of hospitality—not merely serving guests but also extending compassion and support to the community at large. The joy derived from altruism not only benefits those we aim to assist but also fosters a deeper sense of community and togetherness within our team.
As we continue this journey of service, we remain dedicated to embodying the spirit of goodwill, for it is in giving that we discover our own humanity”, said Jessica Chan the Executive Assistant Manager (EAM) at the Light Hotel Penang in a press statement.
She also added that they also embark on such community programmes for all major festive occasions in the country.
Syabas to The Light Hotel Penang team for the commendable community programme which has resulted in restoring compassion and understanding among the nearby community.
