A Legend Reinvented – Once guests step out into the Arrival Lodge, a crimson-clad ‘Dayang,’ or handmaiden, greets them with a refreshing welcome drink, ‘Pemandangan Indah’, comprising of coconut juice, calamansi and hibiscus, while they savor the view of the 10 million-year-old rainforest as they check in.The sense of mystique continues with the Dance of Thanks to the Sea, which takes place at the resort’s private beach every day at 5.30PM. Longingly awaiting the safe return of their friends and family and praying that the sea will bless them with abundant catch, local folks sway to the mellow sound of gamelan music, just as their ancestors have done for thousands of years. The Beach Grill

Ensuring that guests are able to seek respite from the island heat, the resort boasts both guest rooms and villas, with all villas home to their own private pool. The Ocean Front Villas in particular allow expansive views of the Andaman Sea, with multi-level sundecks, pavilion and private pool evoking tranquil luxury and sun-soaked days.

Families can consider the extravagant two-bedroom Villa Kenari or three-bedroom Villa Mutiara, which sleep six and nine pax respectively. Villa Kenari hosts the resort’s largest private pool, while Villa Mutiara has two pools and one private beach.

The Spa

Sublime Seven at Hai Yan – Langkawi’s only modern Chinese restaurant, Hai Yan rises dramatically from the sea and boasts spectacular sunset views and live seafood. For the resort’s 7th anniversary executive Chinese Chef Wang Canhua has curated a delectable seven-course degustation dinner inspired by the island’s natural bounty.

By working with local farmers and fishermen, Chef Wang and the team present crowd favorites like the Fried Prawn with Wasabi Mayonnaise, Sesame & Tobiko, the succulent Wok-Fried Wagyu Beef with Black Pepper Sauce and Capsicum, as well as the aromatic Fried Cod Fish in Homemade Smoky Sauce.

Sublime Seven is available from 22 – 29 September 2024 from 6.30pm – 10.30pm, retailing at RM777 nett per couple with the option to add on a seven-course wine pairing for RM333 per person.

Sizzling Panggangan Night – The sound of the rainforest comes alive at night, together with the irresistible sights, smells and sounds from the live stations at Langkawi Kitchen, for this special edition of the popular Friday Panggangan Night buffet. The culinary team weaves Malaysia’s ancient recipes with modern twists, presenting time honored delicacies such as Salai Masak Lemak Cili Padi, Langkawi Char Kway Teow, Salted Fish & Pekasam and fusion treats like Durian
Crème Brulee.
An enchanting evening awaits, as diners sit surrounded by the rainforest in the longhouse-inspired structure of Langkawi Kitchen, where every seat looks out towards the lush greenery. 7 Chakras Serenity at The Ritz-Carlton Spa – This award-winning spa takes inspiration from the stunning views of the lush rainforest and the crystal-clear Andaman Sea. The Ritz-Carlton Spa invites guests to tune into their unique surrounding landscapes and feel the harnessing and soothing powers of nature. Overwater walkways lead to overwater cocoon shaped treatment pavilions that bob above the sea, strikingly designed to resemble ‘Malay Bubus’ – intricately woven fish traps used for centuries by local fishermen. These are intended to be a sensual and immersive experience, as the sounds of the sea and surrounding wildlife float into your treatment room. The design of the whole spa is linked with a common thread, showcasing glazed floor-to-ceiling windows bringing the outside in. The sophisticated decor has neutral tones and is made from high quality materials such as natural stone, light oak timber floors, dark walnut and soft, light linens.

For this special 7th anniversary the Ladies & Gentlemen reflect on our journey through the years with our guests, with the seven chakras representing a vital aspect of our bond. The 7 Chakras Serenity massage begins at the feet, progressing through each join and is designed to release tension in the muscles at each chakra point.

Each of the seven chakras points correspond to a different energy center, such as love, compassion, stability and wisdom; once chakras points have been activated it allows guests to embark on a transformative journey of love, joy and relaxation. Green Activities – As the resort seeks to provide a fun and educational experience for children, the treehouse inspired Ritz Kids facility not only provides art and craft activities, but also a relaxing Butterfly Walk in the resort’s Butterfly Garden, Tree Planting, Nature Discovery and more, guided by the Recreation team. Adults can also enjoy environmentally friendly activities, such as paddle boarding, sunset and sunrise yoga, tennis, kayaking and more adventurous excursions such as Trails of Wonder, conducted by renowned local naturalist and UNESCO geopark-certified guide Othman Ayeb. As safeguarding the natural environment is paramount, the resort works with the UNESCO geopark and the Langkawi Tourism Authority (LADA) on a mangrove replantation project titled The Hereafter Project, ensuring that Langkawi’s famous and essential mangroves continue to keep the island safe from tidal erosion and maintain the habitat of the animals that call it home.

Led by their in-house marine biologist and Resort Ambassador of Environment and Sustainability Fadzli Luqman, the sea cucumber nursery is located at the entrance of the resort’s private beach. All guests are invited for a hands-on experience to learn more about the program during their stay. With sea cucumbers long prized by throughout for the purported healing properties and their status as a delicacy in Asian cooking, guests will have the chance to learn more about this unsung hero, the asexual technique and releasing the mature sea cucumber with a kayak session out in the open sea. In addition, our young guests will understand the importance of this sea animal and its role in the underwater ecosystem.
