The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) held its much awaited “Collaborate & Elevate” networking gathering at the Hin Bus Depot last Friday.
Despite the rain, there were some 150 industry players from the hospitality, airlines, travel and tour industries.
Guest-of-honour was Peang caretaker government’s committee chairman for Tourism and Creative Economy Mr Yeoh Soon Hin.
Also present was Chief Minister Incorporate (CMI) general manager Datin S. Barathi.
PCEB chief executive officer Ashwin Gunasekeren and his team were on hand to ensure a smooth flow of events.
Guests were feted to a galore of local fare and live band entertainment. The deejay for the night Jay Subramaniam brought out the moves from guests with his retro numbers.
In his address, Ashwin expressed confidence that 2023 will see more international conferences and gatherings coming to Penang.
“The hosting of such major events will surely benefit the local economy and its stakeholders in the various industries,” he added.
Meanwhile, Yeoh added that their visionary projects, Penang, have been in the spotlight in the South East Asian region.
“This is a testament to the commitment of the state government to transform the state into a sustainable, diverse and smart destination,” he added.
