Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow, despite being late due to the usual traffic crawl, brought good news at the launching of the Multi-purpose Hall and Sports Complex at the Chinese Recreation Club (CRC) Penang yesterday.

The much welcomed news was that the Federal Government will fully fund the LRT project for Penang.

He had earlier attended the Hari Raya open house attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who had announced the much needed news for the state.

Meanwhile, Chow expressed pleasure that all Chinese Recreation Club (CRC) members are happy to see the completion of the multipurpose hall and sports academy complex.

“I have no doubt that all of the sports facilities will be put to good use. I hear that the youngest table tennis player here is seven years-old and the oldest 90 years-old.

“I am also happy to note the club has produced world standard players too,” said Chow.
