Some 2,000 local and international delegates will attend the 2nd Penang International Hair & Beauty Festival 2023 to be held at the PICCA Convention Centre @ Butterworth Arena.
The two-day gathering will be held from Oct 10th & 11th , 2023.
Among the foreign delegates are from China, Korea, Japan, Myanmar, Singapore and Taipei.
Present to announce the festival was State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Wong Hon Wai,accompanied by Penang Global Tourism (PGT) chief executive officer, Ooi Chok Yan and Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) Head of Sales & Marketing, Puan Siti Sarah.
Representing the organising committee of the festival was David Sim, Penang Hairdressing Association chairman along with Ms Teo Siew Chin and their team.
“This grand event dubbed “Penang Unveiling the Essence of Welcome and Wonder” will feature around 40 booths to showcase the latest technology and equipment in the industry.
“There will also be dialogue and collaboration sessions to promote the hair and beauty industry.
“The estimated economic impact (EEI) for the state will be RM7.3 million and will benefit the various stakeholders,” said Wong at a press conference in Komtar.
Among the programme for the festival are an expo, hair & beauty competition, workshops and a gala dinner. Admission is free.
