Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa preparing for the social distancing requirements

There will be no compromise when it comes to the health and safety of guests and staff at the Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa and Golden Sands Resort here.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, both hotels have put in place additional procedures to ensure the well-being of all guests and employees.

More so, as they are the only hotel in Penang with an in-house qualified Area Hygiene and Sanitation Manager.

Following the easing of the Movement Control Order (MCO) and the gradual resumption of routine operations, the safety and comfort of guests and employees still remain their top priority.

Among the measures introduced are temperature checks for guests at all entrances of restaurants, social distancing markers, a maximum of four (4) per table, a two (2) metre distance between dining tables, regular sanitisation of frequent touch points, the setup of sanitisers for the use of staff and guests at communal areas and work stations with the added provision of apparatus and devices to minimise contact with infected surfaces.

In line with this, guests, can also expect to see more frequent clearing and sanitising of tables and chairs after each use.

Guests are encouraged to wear face masks in public areas and to use their discretion to avoid overly crowded spaces.

Employees serving guests are also required to wear masks and gloves. To further minimise the risk of contamination of surfaces, contactless ordering and payment with QR codes have been introduced for all dining outlets.

“We have very stringent procedures in place. I keep close tabs on all our food handlers so that sanitation, preparation and serving are all done in accordance to regulatory food standards requirements stipulated by the Malaysian Ministry of Health and local authorities.

“In compliance with the guidelines recommended under the conditional MCO, Rasa Sayang will practice an enhanced level of safety protocol and social distancing.

“The safety and well-being of our guests and associates is of paramount importance to us and will remain so.” said Area Food Safety and Sanitation Manager, Khoh Soo Oon, 49.

He has wide experience and exposure in this specialized field as he has been with the resorts since 2001.

Khoh also added that in summary, the new norm is a holistic approach requiring the contribution and cooperation of everyone involved to ensure the safety, health and comfort of all.

Well done Rasa Sayang Resort and Golden Sands Resort on your commendable efforts to ensure safety of health of guests and staff overall.
