Some 117 media practitioners in Penang were given the all important first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at the Klinik Kesihatan Jalan Angsana in Ayer Itam today.
This is following similar vaccinations carried out for the media in Kelantan and Perak.
They were vaccinated in batches from as early as 8.30am.
On hand was State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, Yeoh Soon Hin who also received his dose.
“It is necessary for the media to be administered their vaccines as they are also the frontliners doing their duties.
“The state government understands the risks taken by the media personnel in carrying out their duties and we have stressed this requirement with the Ministry of Health,” said Yeoh who is also the assemblyman for Paya Terubong.
He also added that he is grateful for the vaccination and expects those media personnel in Seberang Perai to be vaccinated very soon.
“We also hope for good health for the media personnel in Penang,” said Yeoh while expressing his sincere gratitude to the health department personnel on duty at the vaccination centre.
