The Penang state government has to-date achieved the 60% mark of its affordable homes target.
Penang State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo said that they will continue with their Affordable Housing programmes in the state.
“Our latest numbers are 132, 786 units, which is 60% of our target of 220,000 units in Penang, ranging from Rent-to-Own (RTO), Low Cost, Low Medium Cost, from RM42,000 to RM300,000.
“In order for more such affordable housing we will extend our Housing Ownership Campaign (HOC) until the end of the year,” he said.
He also called on the Federal Government must also do the same to benefit the rakyat.
