G Hotel clinches top ASEAN award for best venue

It is early 2020 and G Hotel Gurney has already got off the block with the prestigious ASEAN MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions) Venue Standard 2020 – 2022 award under the Meeting Room category at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) for the very first time.

The ATF 2020 was held in Brunei Darussalam recently.

The event was attended by the travel industry professionals as well as representatives and delegates from all ASEAN member countries.

The ASEAN MICE Venue Standard was introduced in year 2018 to recognise businesses and destinations in ASEAN which comply to the standards of tourism services for convention and meeting rooms in hotels and convention centres.

G Hotel Gurney was rated based on several criteria such as physical settings of all meeting rooms, safety, security and emergency facilities, technologies used in meeting rooms as well as the upscale services provided by G Hotel’s staffs.

Five hotels from Malaysia out of 41 establishments in ASEAN were honoured with the ASEAN MICE Venue Standard award.

G Hotel was the only hotel in Penang to receive this prestigious recognition.

The award was presented to Director of Rooms, Syahreezal Kamaruddin by Secretary General, Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Dato’ Dr. Noor Zari Hamat.
