Penang DAP candidates

Former Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy Mr Yeoh Soon Hin was announced as the new Penang Port Commission chairman.

The surprise announcement was made by Transport Minister and DAP secretary general, Anthony Loke at the JEN Hotel Penang last night at the JEN Hotel here.

Following the announcement, Yeoh in his remarks, said that he respects and accepts the party’s decision and will now focus on his new role.

“The party has also decided to offer me a Parliament post for the next elections.

“I will now use my knowledge and experience while serving as the tourism exco to promote the Penang Port Commission.

“I am confident that my tenure as the tourism and creative economy chairman will serve well in my new post. I also appreciate the opportunity to serve as the Penang Port Commission chairman, ” he added.

Meanwhile, Loke also announced the 19 member DAP line-up for the upcoming state elections.

Among them are Chow Kon Yeow (Padang Kota), Jagdeep Singh Deo ( Datok Keramat), Phee Syn Tze (Sungai Puyu), Chee Yeeh Keen (Bagan Jermal), K. Kumaran (Bagan Dalam), Heng Lee Lee (Berapit), H’ng Mooi Lye (Jawi), Zairil Khir Johari ( Tanjung Bungah), Lim Guan Eng ( Air Putih), Woo Sze Zeng (Pulau Tikus), Lim Siew Khim (Sungai Pinang), Ong Ah Teong ( Batu Lancang), Tan Hooi Peng ( Seri Delima), Ng Soon Siang ( Air Itam), Wong Hon Wai (Paya Terubong), Gooi Zi Sen ( Padang Lalang), Sundarajoo ( Perai), Wong Yuee Harng (Pengkalan Kota) and Teh Lai Heng (Komtar).
