The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi is thrilled to announce it has been named as “Best Resort in Malaysia” in DestinAsian’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2025.
The awards were organised by DestinAsian, an award-winning travel and lifestyle magazine whose annual travel awards are voted on by readers worldwide, who value luxury hospitality.
General Manager Mafalda Costa Tavares expressed her thanks to both the guests and the Ladies & Gentlemen of the resort.
“This prestigious accolade is a testament to the exemplary service and genuine care shown by our Ladies & Gentlemen, who always strive to provide an unforgettable experience for guests, which has been reflected in the votes by DestinAsian’s readers,” said Mafalda.

The island of Langkawi was also named as #8 Best Island in Asia, which Mafalda hopes will continue to encourage and attract tourists in discovering all the mystical island has to offer.
“From the stunning natural scenery to the many myths and legends that inspired our tagline “A Legend Reinvented”, Langkawi as a destination is underrated. Whether it’s discovering the under-appreciated sea cucumbers, the ‘heroes of the ocean’ at our resort, traversing through the 10-million-year-old rainforest or going on a culinary exploration with Langkawi’s natural produce, travelers seeking an all-round trip need look no further.”
Explore A Legend Reinvented
Reunite and come together with your loved ones, on the legendary island of Langkawi, home to fantastical myths and folklore, which is reflected in every facet of the resort. Once guests step out into the Arrival Lodge, a crimson-clad ‘Dayang,’ or handmaiden, greets them with a refreshing welcome drink, ‘Pemandangan Indah’, comprising of coconut juice, calamansi and hibiscus, while they savor the view of the 10 million-year-old rainforest as they check in.The sense of mystique continues with the Dance of Thanks to the Sea, which takes place at the resort’s private beach every day at 6PM. Longingly awaiting the safe return of their friends and family and praying that the sea will bless them with abundant catch, local folks sway to the mellow sound of gamelan music, just as their ancestors have done for thousands of years. With their bare feet gliding across the sand, their arms mirroring the motion of the waves, and
their enchanting outfits gracefully floating in the evening breeze, they tune into the energy of the ocean, celebrating its bounty and generosity.
Ensuring that guests are able to seek respite from the island heat, the resort boasts both guest rooms and villas, with all villas home to their own private pool. The Beach Villas are ideal for families seeking direct access to the resort’s private beach, along with unparalleled views of the azure Andaman Sea.
