Folks in Bandar Perda can now enjoy the splendor of bougainvillea flowers which are in full bloom at the “Bougainvillea Belt” launched recently.
Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak was on hand to launch the park which is spruced up with thousands of bougainvillea shrubs which is also known scientifically as “Nyctaginaceae”.
Also present was Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP) Mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud and guests.
The park is also planted with Fukugi trees and palm trees. Three more parks are in the pipeline in Bertam, Robina Park and Batu Kawan.
They also hope to plant other plants like the Bunga Raya which is the national flower.
Rozali said the council is looking at flowers which bloom throughout the year rather than seasonal species.
